Swedish start-up Climeon and Dutch firm IF Technology are partnering to use low heat power generation technology for geothermal projects in the Netherlands.
The companies have signed an agreement, which will integrate Climeon Ocean heat power solution with IF Technology’s expertise in designing geothermal systems.
The move marks a milestone in realising the intentions of the Paris COP21 agreement.
Climeon’s Ocean vacuum-enabled heat power solution is designed to produce electricity from hot water efficiently compared to other solutions.
It has the capacity to operate in ultra-low temperature ranges of 70°C-120°C, making geothermal energy generation in the Netherlands economically feasible.
Under the partnership, Climeon and IF Technology are planning to generate 100% clean electricity from geothermal heat. The process would require no fuel or particular weather conditions.
