Europe power industry tenders in January 2022: Poland leads activity

Looking at tenders by country, Poland led the activity in January 2022 with 51 tenders and a share of 72.9%, up 27% over the previous month and up 76% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Germany with four tenders and a share of 5.7% and Belgium with two tenders and a share of 2.9% during the month.

Looking at the last 12-month average, Poland held the top spot with 29 tenders, followed by France with 12 and Germany with nine tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in January 2022

Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 15 tenders and a 55.6% share, followed by thermal with ten tenders and a 37% share and wind with one tender and a 3.7% share.

Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Project was the most popular segment in January 2022, with 29 tenders, followed by Generation Equipment (14) and T&D Equipment (13).

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 24 tenders and a 34.3% share
  2. Supply & Erection: 21 tenders and a 30% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 13 tenders and an 18.6% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: 11 tenders and a 15.7% share
  5. Electricity Supply: one tender and a 1.4% share.

Power tenders in January 2022: Top companies by capacity

The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:

  1. Bundesnetzagentur (Germany): 617MW from one tender
  2. WLC Park: 0.28MW from one tender.
