Description

The project was developed by Innogy and Solar Krafte Utilities. The project is currently owned by RWE with a stake of 100%.

Prairie Sunlight III Solar Project is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 193 acres.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 5,400 households, offsetting 26,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

The project construction commenced in 2019 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in August 2020.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to West Fraser Mills under a power purchase agreement for a period of 10 years from 2020. The contracted capacity is 22MW.

Contractors involved

BELECTRIC was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

Canadian Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company provided 79,380 modules each with 340W of nameplate capacity.

SMA Solar Technology supplied 8 of its SC-2750-EV-US inverters to the project site.

The project is utilising horizontal single axis trackers supplied by IdeemaTec Deutschland.

BELECTRIC is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project.
