Description

Mitsui, The AES and Nebras Power Investment Management are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40%, 36.6% and 23.4% respectively.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Distillate Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from Jordanian Egyptian FAJR for Natural Gas Transmission and Supply Co. Ltd..

Development status

The project got commissioned in August 2009.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to National Electric Power under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years from 2009. The contracted capacity is 375MW.

Doosan Enerbility was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the dual-fuel fired power project.

The Dual-Fuel fired project have been supplied by Ansaldo Energia and Fuji Electric.

The electric generators for the project were procured from Ansaldo Energia and Fuji Electric.
