The project was developed by Nebraska Public Power District. Nebraska Public Power District, Omaha Public Power District, Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska and City of Grand Island are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 69.03%, 16.84%, 11.79% and 1.69% respectively.

The project generates 91,304MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 19,000 households.

Vestas Wind Systems was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 36 units of V82-1.65 MW turbines, each with 1.65MW nameplate capacity.
