A new 14.5MW solar power plant in Taka Town has been successfully completed, with an aim to revitalise community through renewable energy.
The solar plant was built by Takacho Yasudago Mega Solar Hatsuden, an enterprise jointly established by Kyocera, Mitsubishi Research Institute, Tokyo Century, and Yonden Engineering Company.

The project commenced operations on 2 November this year and will have the capacity to generate approximately 16,060MWh annually to power approximately 4,930 households.
After initiating project planning in May 2013, the companies established Takacho Yasudago Mega Solar Hatsuden in October 2014 and commenced construction after obtaining approval for land development in March 2015.
Tokyo Century was responsible for arranging finances for the project, while design and construction were undertaken by Yonden Engineering.
Kyocera supplied 56,000 solar modules and peripheral equipment for the installation, as well as agreeing to carry out maintenance work.

By GlobalDataMitsubishi Research Institute headed the project and provided consultation. It will also undertake the administration of Takacho Yasudago Mega Solar Hatsuden, which will be responsible for site operations.
Electricity generated by the facility will be sold to the local utility, Kansai Electric Power Co, through Japan’s feed-in-tariff system.
