MidAmerican Energy, Interstate Power and Light, Others, Corn Belt Power Cooperative, Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative, Algona Municipal Utilities, Webster City Municipal Electric Cooperative, Cedar Falls Utilities, City of Spencer and Grundy Center Municipal Light & Power are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40.57%, 25.7%, 10.59%, 8.7%, 4.86%, 2.94%, 2.6%, 2.5%, 1.21% and 0.33% respectively.

It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is refined coal. In case of shortage of refined coal the plant can also run on Subbituminous.

The project generated 3,882,496MWh of electricity.

The project got commissioned in July 1979.
