Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Enel Green Power and Orchid Business Group. The company’s ownership stake in the project stands as 80% and 20% respectively.
Metehara Solar PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is planned over 250 hectares.
The project is expected to generate 280GWh electricity to offset 296,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is expected to be around $130m.

Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project will be sold to Ethiopian Electric Power under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.059kWh for a period of 20 years. The capacity to be procured is 100MW.
