Description

The project is being developed by Lower Simang Power and is currently owned by Adishankar Power.

Simang-I is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 0.89 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project will be 90.32m and 81.83m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 3 in number. The penstock length will be 56m. The penstock diameter will be 2.3m.

The hydro power project consists of 3 turbines, each with 22.33MW nameplate capacity.

The project has 3 electric generators that will be installed at the project site.

Development status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2026. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2028.
