Description

The project was developed by Babcock & Wilcox Volund, Interserve Group and Tubular Fabrications. The project is currently owned by Schroders Greencoat with a stake of 100%.

The project generates 315GWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 78,000 households, offsetting 150,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The process of combustion has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Wood by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Development status

The project got commissioned in February 2019.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Engie Supply Holding UK under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years. The contracted capacity is 315GWh.

Contractors involved

Babcock & Wilcox Volund supplied steam boiler for the project. The temperature witnessed inside the boiler is around 500°C. The steam is pressurized inside the boiler at 80bar.

Babcock & Wilcox Volund is the O&M contractor for the project for a period of 15 years.
