Sawi Biomass Power Plant is a 16MW biopower project. It is planned in Chumphon, Thailand. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2023 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2024.

Description
The project cost is expected to be around $39.493m.
The process of combustion will be adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Refuse which is a kind of municipal solid waste will be used as a feedstock to power the project.
Development Status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2023. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.

The power generated from the project will be sold to Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand under a power purchase agreement. The power will be sold at the rate of $0.072kWh for a period of 20 years. The capacity to be procured is 13.85MW.
