Description

The project was developed by Craven County Wood Energy. The project is co-owned by Atlantic Power and CMS Energy, with their respective ownership stake of 50% each.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 30,000 households.

The process of combustion has been adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed. Agricultural by-product, animal waste and wood by-product are used as a feedstock to power the project.

Contractors Involved

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project. The company provided 1 turbine with 48MW nameplate capacity.
