The project was developed by Shuaibah Water and Electricity. International Company for Water and Power Projects, Malakoff, Saudi Electricity and Tenaga Nasional are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 30%, 12%, 8% and 6% respectively.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant that is used for Baseload. The fuel is procured from Saudi Aramco.
