The project is developed and owned by North Eastern Electric Power.
Kopili is a reservoir based project. The net head of the project is 326.5m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 2 in number. The penstock length is 890m. The penstock diameter is 2.7m. Kopili underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2023.
