Toro is a 142MW hydro power project. It is located on Sarapiqui river/basin in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 1996.

The hydro reservoir capacity is 0.02 million cubic meter.

Toro (Toro 1) is equipped with IMPSA francis turbines. The phase consists of 2 turbines.
Toro (Toro 2) is equipped with Litostroj Power francis turbines. The phase consists of 2 turbines with 32.86MW nameplate capacity.
Toro (Toro 3) is equipped with Litostroj Power francis turbines. The phase consists of 2 turbines with 24.02MW nameplate capacity.
Inepar Energia supplied 2 electric generators for the Toro (Toro 1). The generator capacity is 13.65 MVA.
Inepar Energia supplied 2 electric generators for the Toro (Toro 2). The generator capacity is 36.52 MVA.
Koncar Generators and Motors supplied 2 electric generators for the Toro (Toro 3). The generator capacity is 29.7 MVA.
