Description
The project was developed by Itochu, SembCorp Utilities (UK) and SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK. Sembcorp Industries, SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK and Itochu are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40%, 40% and 20% respectively.
The project supplies enough clean energy to power 63,000 households, offsetting 130,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $408.703m.
The process of gasification has been adopted in this combined heat and power (CHP) project to release the stored energy from the feed. Household waste which is a kind of municipal solid waste is used as a feedstock to power the project.

Clugston Group and Constructions Industrielles de la Mediterranee were selected to render EPC services for the biopower project.
MAN Energy Solutions was selected as the steam turbine supplier for the project. MAN Energy Solutions supplied the electric generator for the project.
