Janub Thermal Power Plant is a 780MW gas fired power project. It is located in Aran, Azerbaijan. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in July 2013.

Description

The project is developed and owned by Azerenergy. The company has a stake of 100%.

It is a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Heavy Fuel Oil.

Development Status

The project got commissioned in July 2013.
