Icona is a 101.6MW hydro power project. It is planned on Juntas Corani river/basin in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The project is currently in announced stage. It will be developed in single phase. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2022.

Description

The project is being developed and currently owned by Empresa Electrica Corani.

The gross head of the project will be 159m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 2 in number. The penstock diameter will be 3m. The project cost is expected to be around $262.5m.

The hydro power project consists of 2 units of francis turbines.

Development Status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2022.
