Description
The project was developed by Empresas Publicas De Medellin and Eolic Partners Chile. AES Andes and Norgener Renovables are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 99.99% and 0.01% respectively.
The project generates 290,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 175,000 households, offsetting 119,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $218m.
The Los Cururos (Los Cururos I), has 80m high towers.
The Los Cururos (Los Cururos II), has 80m high towers.

Vestas Wind Systems was selected to render EPC services for the wind power project.
Los Cururos (Los Cururos I) is equipped with Vestas Wind Systems V100-1.8 MW turbines. The phase consists of 22 turbines with 1.8MW nameplate capacity.
Los Cururos (Los Cururos II) is equipped with Vestas Wind Systems V100-2.0 MW turbines. The phase consists of 35 turbines with 2MW nameplate capacity.
Vestas Wind Systems is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 10 years.
