The project is developed and owned by Trung Son Hydropower.
The hydro reservoir capacity is 348.5 million cubic meter. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 4 in number. The penstock length is 229m. The project generated 1,018.61 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $410.68m.

China Hydropower Engineering Consulting Group was selected to render EPC services for the hydro power project.
Toshiba Hydro Power (Hanzhou) was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The project consists of 4 units of Francis turbines, each with 65MW nameplate capacity.
Toshiba Hydro Power (Hanzhou) supplied 2 electric generators for the Trung Son (Trung Son Unit 1 and 2). The generator capacity is 65 MVA.
