The project was developed by Vinh Tan 1 Power. China Power International Holding, China Southern Power Grid and Vinacomin – Coc Sau Coal are currently owning the project.
It is a steam turbine power plant.
The project generated 7,200,000MWh of electricity. The project cost is $1,750m.

Greens Power Equipment (China) and Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute were selected to render EPC services for the coal fired power project.
Dongfang Electric was selected as the turbine supplier for the Coal fired project.
