The project was developed by Jaiprakash Power Ventures and is currently owned by JSW Energy with a stake of 100%.

Baspa II is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project are 716m and 702m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 3 in number. The project generated 1,213 GWh of electricity.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board under a power purchase agreement for a period of 5 years, starting from 2019.

Contractors Involved

Andritz Hydro was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of pelton turbines, each with 100MW nameplate capacity.

Voith Hydro Holding supplied 1 electric generator for the project. The generator capacity is 111.1 MVA.

Voith Hydro Holding supplied 2 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 122.1 MVA.
