The project was developed by Hydro-Electric Power Commission of Ontario and is currently owned by Ontario Power Generation with a stake of 100%.
The net head of the project is 91.4m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 10 in number. The penstock length is 116.7m. The penstock diameter is 4.9m. Sir Adam Beck 1 underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2011.
