Public Establishment for Electricity Generation and Transmission Company (PEEGT) is a government owned electric utility company. PEEGT operates under the Ministry of Electricity and is responsible for the generation and transmission of electricity in Syria. The company transmits electricity of over 400 kV and 230 kV transmission lines. PEEGT provides its services to commercial, agricultural and residential customers in Syria. The company is also responsible for all electricity exchanges with neighboring countries. PEEGT’s projects under development include Deir Ali II power plant extension project of 750 MW capacity and Deir-Ezzor Combined Cycle Power Plant of 750 MW capacity. The company exports and imports electricity from Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt. PEEGT is headquartered at Damascus, Syria.
