The project is being developed and currently owned by Ethiopian Electric Power.
The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 325 million cubic meter. The project is expected to generate 1,194 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $729m.
Chemoga Yeda (Chemoga Yeda I) consists of 2 units of pelton turbines with 81MW nameplate capacity.
Chemoga Yeda (Chemoga Yeda II) consists of 2 units of francis turbines with 59MW nameplate capacity.
