US-based electric utility company Exelon Generation has awarded a more than $140m integrated outage contract to GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH).
The contract is for Exelon’s entire fleet of boiling water reactor (BWR) nuclear energy facilities and three pressurised water reactor (PWR) units.

Under the deal, GEH will deliver a complete portfolio of outage and inspection services to Exelon’s fleet of 15 BWR units across the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and Northeast regions.
GEH will also be responsible for provide service to the R.E. Ginna PWR in Ontario and two PWRs at Calvert Cliffs in Lusby, US.
