The Ahlone Power Expansion Project is 388MW gas fired power project. It is planned in Yangon, Myanmar. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2022 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in June 2024.

Description

The project is being developed by Inpex, Shikoku Electric Power, Sojitz, TTCL Power Myanmar and TTCL Public. Italian-Thai Development and Toyo Engineering are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.

It is a combined cycle gas turbine (ccgt) power plant.

The project cost is expected to be around $626.37m.

The Gas fired project consists of 2 gas turbines, each with 128.5MW nameplate capacity.

Development Status

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Myanmar Electric Power Enterprise under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years. The offtake capacity is expected to be 365MW.
