Description
The project is being developed by Moray Offshore Windfarm (West). EDP Renovaveis, Engie and AB Ignitis Grupe are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 63.65%, 31.35% and 5% respectively.
The project is expected to supply enough clean energy to power 640,000 households, to offset 1,100,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project will be spread over an area of 225km². The turbines will be mounted on fixed xxl monopile foundations and will be interconnected by 66kV inter-array cable.
Development status
The project construction is expected to commence from 2023. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2025.
Power purchase agreement
Amazon.com and Google Energy are expected to be the power offtakers from the project.

Moray Firth West (Moray Firth West Phase I) will be equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SG 14-222 DD turbines. The phase consists of turbines with 14.7MW nameplate capacity.
Moray Firth West (Moray Firth West Phase II) will be equipped with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SG 14-222 DD turbines. The phase consists of turbines with 14.7MW nameplate capacity.
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is expected to perform operations and maintenance for the wind power project.
