Asia-Pacific power industry contracts in October 2021: China leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, China led the activity in October 2021 with 20 contracts and a share of 32.3%, down 15% over the previous month and down 26% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by India with 13 contracts and a share of 21% and Australia with ten contracts and a share of 16.1% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, China held the top spot with 27 contracts, followed by India with 20 and Australia with ten contracts.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in October 2021
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 40 contracts and a 70.2% share, followed by wind with 13 contracts and a 22.8% share and thermal with one contract and a 1.8% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Asia-Pacific as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in October 2021, with 31 contracts, followed by Electricity Procurement (14) and Generation Equipment (9).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 28 contracts and a 45.2% share
- Supply & Erection: 14 contracts and a 22.6% share
