Description
The project was developed by Norte Energia. Centrais Eletricas do Norte do Brasil, Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras, Companhia Hidro Eletrica do Sao Francisco, Belo Monte Participacoes, Fundacao dos Economiarios Federais, Fundacao Petrobras de Seguridade Social, Light, Vale, Siderurgica Norte Brasil and JMalucelli Energia are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 19.98%, 15%, 15%, 10%, 10%, 10%, 9.77%, 9%, 1% and 0.25% respectively.
Belo Monte is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project are 91m and 87m respectively. The project generated 38,790 GWh of electricity.
