Europe power industry tenders in Q3 2021: Poland leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Poland led the activity in Q3 2021 with 94 tenders and a share of 25.3%, down 0.8% over the previous quarter and up 9% when compared with the last four-quarter average, followed by France with 80 tenders and a share of 21.5% and Germany with 26 tenders and a share of 7% during the quarter.
Looking at the last four-quarter average, Poland held the top spot with 86 tenders, followed by Germany with 32 and France with 22 tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in Q3 2021
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 104 tenders and a 51% share, followed by thermal with 39 tenders and a 19.1% share and wind with 28 tenders and a 13.7% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in Europe power tenders activity during Q3 2021, with 135 tenders, followed by T&D Project (101) and T&D Equipment (64).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 204 tenders and a 54.8% share
- Supply & Erection: 120 tenders and a 32.3% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: 21 tenders and a 5.6% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 18 tenders and a 4.8% share
- Others: four tenders and a 1.1% share
- Electricity Supply: three tenders and a 0.8% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: two tenders and a 0.5% share.
Power tenders in Q3 2021: Top companies by capacity
The top issuers of tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- Ministere de l’Environnement, de l’Energie et de la Mer (France): 27,050MW from 58 tenders
- Russian Association of Wind Power Industry (Russia): 6,700MW from one tender
- Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (Spain): 3,300MW capacity from one tender.
