September 2021 has seen an increase of 4.1% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 10.35% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering an increase of 1.13% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 57.8% in September 2021, an 8.64% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 14.62% in September 2021, marking a 61.54% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12.53% in September 2021, a 7.22% drop from August 2021.

Top five power companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 18.7% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s power industry during September 2021 over previous month.
Siemens posted 147 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a decline of 4.55% over the previous month, followed by Companhia de Transmissao de Energia Eletrica Paulista with 109 jobs and a 29.76% growth. Umicore with 92 IT jobs and Vestas Wind Systems with 43 jobs, recorded a 109.09% rise and a 6.52% drop, respectively, while Nordex recorded a 12% increase with 28 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s power industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 30.22% share in September 2021, a 10.15% increase over August 2021. Belgium featured next with a 13.65% share, up 117.78% over the previous month. The UK recorded an 11.98% share, a drop of 2.27% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.17%, up by 12.8% from August 2021. Entry Level positions with a 15.04% share, registered a growth of 21.35% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 13.65% share, up 22.5% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.14%, recording a month-on-month decline of 83.33%.
