Europe power industry tenders in May 2021: Poland leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Poland led the activity in May 2021 with 17 tenders and a share of 20%, down 6.7% over the previous month and down 39% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Germany with ten tenders and a share of 11.8% and France with six tenders and a share of 7.1% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, Poland held the top spot with 28 tenders, followed by Germany with nine and France with seven tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in May 2021
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 17 tenders and a 48.6% share, followed by nuclear with five tenders and a 14.3% share and wind with five tenders and a 14.3% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in May 2021, with 24 tenders, followed by T&D Project (20) and Power Plant (19).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 45 tenders and a 52.9% share
- Project Implementation: 27 tenders and a 31.8% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: eight tenders and a 9.4% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four tenders and a 4.7% share
- Others: one tender and a 1.2% share.
Power tenders in May 2021: Top issuers by capacity
The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Turkey (Turkey): 4,000MW from one tender
- Ministro do Ambiente e da Transicao Energetica (Portugal): 500MW from one tender
- Harran University: 5MW capacity from one tender.
