Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, solar held the top position in terms of number of contracts during Q1 2021 with a 54.4% share.
The proportion of contracts by category in the Solar technology tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 307 contracts and a 60% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: 111 contracts and a 21.7% share
- Supply & Erection: 75 contracts and a 14.6% share
- Electricity Supply: nine contracts and a 1.8% share

Comparing contracts activity in solar technology in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 205 contracts and a share of 40% during Q1 2021, followed by Asia-Pacific with 179 contracts and a 35% share and North America with 93 contracts and an 18.2% share.
