The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation with 49 contracts and a 66.2% share
- Supply & Erection: 13 contracts and a 17.6% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: ten contracts and a 13.5% share
- Electricity Supply: two contracts and a 2.7% share.
Malaysia tops Asia-Pacific solar power contracts activity
Malaysia was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology contracts recorded in March 2021 with 30 contracts and a 40.5% share, followed by India with 15 contracts and a 20.3% share and China with six contracts and an 8.1% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Malaysia): 823.06MW from 30 contracts
- Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (India): 500MW from five contracts
- Marubeni (Japan), Alcoa (United States) and CITIC Nominees Pty: 275MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- AGL Energy (Australia), Alinta Energy Pty (Australia) and Origin Energy (Australia): 275MW from one contract
- NTPC (India): 150MW from one contract
- Sunseap Group Pte (Singapore): 124MW capacity from two contracts.
