Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in January 2021 with 36 tenders and a 29.5% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 32 tenders and a 26.2% share and Generation Equipment with 24 tenders and a 19.7% share during the month.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 30 tenders and an 83.3% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: five tenders and a 13.9% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one tender and a 2.8% share.
Solar is top technology for Middle East and Africa power plant tenders in January 2021
Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, solar accounted for 30 tenders with an 85.7% share, followed by hydro with three tenders and an 8.6% share and geothermal with one tender and a 2.9% share.
