The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 326 tenders and an 80.9% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: 43 tenders and a 10.7% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 31 tenders and a 7.7% share
  4. Others: three tenders and a 0.7% share.

Asia-Pacific leads power plant activity in Q4 2020

Comparing tenders activity in power plant segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 208 tenders and a share of 51.6% during Q4 2020, followed by Middle East and Africa with 77 tenders and a 19.1% share and Europe with 69 tenders and a 17.1% share.

Among the technologies, solar accounted for 344 tenders with an 82.7% share, followed by hydro with 25 tenders and a 6% share and wind with 17 tenders and a 4.1% share.

Power plant tenders in Q4 2020: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Andhra Pradesh Green Energy: 8,500MW from one tender
  2. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 1,220MW from two tenders
  3. Bangalore Electricity Supply (India): 1,060MW capacity from one tender.
