North America power industry contracts in November 2020: The US leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, the US led the activity in November 2020 with 43 contracts and a share of 89.6%, up 4.5% over the previous month and down 39% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Canada with three contracts and a share of 6.3% and Mexico with one contract and a share of 2.1% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, the US held the top spot with 70 contracts, followed by Canada with seven and Mexico with two contracts.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in November 2020
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 32 contracts and a 72.7% share, followed by wind with eight contracts and an 18.2% share and thermal with three contracts and a 6.8% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in North America as tracked by GlobalData, Electricity Procurement was the most popular segment in November 2020, with 23 contracts, followed by Generation Equipment (11) and Power Plant (11).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Power Purchase Agreement: 18 contracts and a 37.5% share
- Project Implementation: nine contracts and an 18.8% share
- Supply & Erection: nine contracts and an 18.8% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and a 10.4% share
