North America power industry tenders in November 2020: The US leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, the US led the activity in November 2020 with 143 tenders and a share of 78.1%, down 9.3% over the previous month and down 16% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Canada with 40 tenders and a share of 21.9%.
Looking at the last 12-month average, the US held the top spot with 170 tenders, followed by Canada with 33.

Thermal is top technology area for tenders in November 2020
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, thermal accounted for the largest proportion with 67 tenders and a 77% share, followed by solar with 16 tenders and an 18.4% share and wind with four tenders and a 4.6% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in North America as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in November 2020, with 82 tenders, followed by Generation Equipment (67) and Power Plant (13).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 122 tenders and a 66.7% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 38 tenders and a 20.8% share
- Project Implementation: 17 tenders and a 9.3% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: four tenders and a 2.2% share
