Solar is leading technology for power plant tenders in May 2020

Among the technologies, solar accounted for 60 tenders with a 73.2% share, followed by hydro with 16 tenders and a 19.5% share and thermal with six tenders and a 7.3% share.

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:

  1. Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Malaysia): 1,000MW from one tender
  2. NTPC (India): 600MW from one tender
  3. Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission & Distribution (Zimbabwe): 500MW capacity from one tender.
