Middle East and Africa power industry contracts in April 2020: Oman leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, Oman led the activity in April 2020 with six contracts and a share of 24%, up 21% over the previous month and up 500% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Guinea with three contracts and a share of 12% and Iraq with two contracts and a share of 8% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, Iran (Islamic Republic of Iran) held the top spot with three contracts, followed by Saudi Arabia with two and Egypt with two contracts.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in April 2020
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with eight contracts and a 57.1% share, followed by thermal with six contracts and a 42.9% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Middle East and Africa as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Project was the most popular segment in April 2020, with nine contracts, followed by Power Plant (8) and Generation Equipment (4).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
