T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q1 2020 with 737 tenders and a 49.9% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 335 tenders and a 22.7% share and Power Plant with 193 tenders and a 13.1% share during the quarter.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 160 tenders and an 82.9% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 21 tenders and a 10.9% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: ten tenders and a 5.2% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: one tender and a 0.5% share
- Supply & Erection: one tender and a 0.5% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in Q1 2020
Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 168 tenders with an 87.5% share, followed by thermal with 11 tenders and a 5.7% share and wind with six tenders and a 3.1% share.
