Siemens has secured an industrial gas turbines supply order from Belarus-based energy provider RUE Minskenergo.
According to the contract, Siemens will be supplying six SGT-800 industrial gas turbines. They will be installed at a new gas power plant in the Minsk region.
Minskenergo general director Aleh Shchemel said: “Once again, we chose to go with Siemens machines since they offer excellent performance and can be brought to full load in a very short period of time.
“This makes these turbines an outstanding choice for increasing grid stability and supply security in Belarus.”
The commissioning of the wind turbines is scheduled for December 2021.
Once commissioned, the gas turbines at the 300MW power plant are expected to improve the grid’s reliability.
