North America power industry contracts in November 2019: The US leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, the US led the activity in November 2019 with 50 contracts and a share of 87.7%, up 12.1% over the previous month and up 11% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Mexico with four contracts and a share of 7% and Canada with three contracts and a share of 5.3% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, the US held the top spot with 45 contracts, followed by Canada with three and Mexico with two contracts.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in November 2019
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 32 contracts and a 57.1% share, followed by wind with 17 contracts and a 30.4% share and thermal with seven contracts and a 12.5% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in North America as tracked by GlobalData, Electricity Procurement was the most popular segment in November 2019, with 18 contracts, followed by Generation Equipment (17) and Power Plant (16).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 20 contracts and a 35.1% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: 17 contracts and a 29.8% share
- Project Implementation: 14 contracts and a 24.6% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and an 8.8% share
- Electricity Supply: one contract and a 1.8% share.
