Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has secured a contract from Finnish energy firm EPV Energia for the Paskoonharju II windfarm located in the municipality of Teuva, Finland. Vestas will supply 21 of its V150-5.6MW turbines for the project.
Vestas Northern and Central Europe president Nils de Baar said: “This order from our valued and long-term customer EPV Energia underlines the V150-5.6MW turbine’s perfect fit with the Finnish wind conditions.
“By deploying the most advanced EnVentus turbines with customised towers, we ensure the lowest cost of energy creating maximum value for our customer’s business case.”
Under the contract, Vestas will be responsible for the supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines. The company will also offer maintenance services to the turbines under a 30-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) agreement.
Additionally, the Paskoonharju II windfarm will be equipped with a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution, which has been designed to minimise the turbine downtime and optimise the energy output.
Vestas has customised a solution that combines the design of V150-5.6 MW turbines and rotors with 155m towers to increase energy production for the project lifetime.

By GlobalDataVestas intends to deliver the turbines in the second quarter of 2021 and plans to commission them for the third quarter the same year.
EPV Energia Tuulivoima managing director Frans Liski said: “EPV’s wind power development has always been based on a long-term viewpoint with a market-driven approach. We trust in Vestas’ strong experience and track record operating in a merchant environment.”
This is not the first order in Finland that Vestas has taken this year. In May, it secured an order from Valorem to deliver wind turbines for the Saunamaa and Suolakangas projects in southern Finland.
