Europe power industry contracts in October 2019: France leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, France led the activity in October 2019 with 54 contracts and a share of 49.1%, up 34.3% over the previous month and up 100% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by the UK with 17 contracts and a share of 15.5% and Spain with seven contracts and a share of 6.4% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, France held the top spot with 27 contracts, followed by the UK with 12 and Greece with eight contracts.

Wind is top technology area for contracts in October 2019
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, wind accounted for the largest proportion with 51 contracts and a 48.1% share, followed by solar with 46 contracts and a 43.4% share and thermal with five contracts and a 4.7% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Europe as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in October 2019, with 62 contracts, followed by Electricity Procurement (21) and Generation Equipment (20).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 59 contracts and a 53.6% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: 19 contracts and a 17.3% share
- Supply & Erection: 19 contracts and a 17.3% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: eight contracts and a 7.3% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: three contracts and a 2.7% share
- Electricity Supply: two contracts and a 1.8% share.

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- NBT (Norway): 750MW from two contracts
- Ministere de l’Environnement, de l’Energie et de la Mer (France): 575.83MW from 20 contracts
- PJSC Kazanorgsintez: 250MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Europe were:
- China Electric Power Equipment and Technology (China): 750MW from two contracts
- Siemens (Germany): 250MW from one contract
