Electricity Procurement stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in Q2 2019 with 68 contracts and a 36.4% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 44 contracts and a 23.5% share and Power Plant with 41 contracts and a 21.9% share during the quarter.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 38 contracts and an 86.4% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and an 11.4% share
- Project Implementation: one contract and a 2.3% share.
Wind is top technology for North America generation equipment contracts in Q2 2019
Looking at generation equipment contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, wind accounted for 21 contracts with a 47.7% share, followed by thermal with 13 contracts and a 29.5% share and solar with five contracts and an 11.4% share.
